John Felix Anthony Cena Jr. (/ˈsiËnÉ™/; born April 23, 1977) is an American professional wrestler, actor, rapper, and television host. He is currently signed to WWE, where he appears for both the Raw and SmackDown brands.
Cena gained fame in the WWE in the early 2000s, portraying a trash-talking rapper.[8][9] This success promoted Cena to act as the company's franchise player[10] and its public face,[11] which later prompted a transition to his current character, which he describes as a "goody-two shoes Superman".
Outside of wrestling, Cena released the album You Can't See Me (2005), which gained platinum certification in the United States. Cena has also enjoyed success as an actor, starring in The Marine (2006), 12 Rounds (2009), Legendary (2010), The Reunion (2011), Trainwreck (2015), The Wall (2017), Ferdinand (2017), and Bumblebee (2018).
Cena is also known for his involvement in numerous philanthropic causes, namely the Make-A-Wish Foundation, where he has granted more than 500 wishes, the most in Make-A-Wish history.[18]
