Tamar Estine Herbert (née Braxton, born March 17, 1977),[7][8] professionally known as Tamar Braxton, is an American singer, television personality and actress. Braxton had her first big break in music in 1990 as a founding member of the American R&B singing group The Braxtons, formed with her sisters.
In 2011, Braxton reunited with her sisters for the WE tv reality show Braxton Family Values. The first season was the #1 rated reality show on WE tv, and the network ordered a 13-episode second season of the show after the third episode.[10][11] Braxton returned to the music industry after a thirteen-year break, with her second album, Love and War (2013).
Braxton is a former co-host of The Real talk show for the Fox Broadcasting Company, which she co-hosted from 2013 to 2016,[15][16] along with Tamera Mowry-Housley, Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai and Loni Love, since the talk show premiered on July 15, 2013.[17]
Braxton's latest career venture is an exclusive television development deal signed with the Steve Harvey owned East 112th Street Productions, for her own talk show and television series.[18][19]
In the same time, she made her movie acting debut in the upcoming film "Gangland" from Jean-Claude La Marre.[20][21]
Braxton has won four awards from 15 nominations, including one BET Award and three Soul Train Music Awards.[22][23][24][25] She has received two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for her work as a co-host on the daytime television talk show The Real.[26][27]
