Parker Schnabel is a driller who became famous after he joined the gold mining show, “Gold Rush” was aired on National Geographic. Born in Haines, Alaska on July 22, 1994, Schnabel was interested in mining and drilling since his childhood. Since a toddler, he used to accompany his father to his grandfather’s gold mines “Big Nugget Mine” in Yukon.
Schnabel was 16 years old when he had to decide if he wanted to go to college or join the family mining business. He chose to take over the mines as a 16-year-old when his father fell ill and has since been into the mining operation. He has done well from his first stint in the mines by unearthing 1029 ounces of gold. In the process, Schnabel has become an expert in gold mining and the largest nugget he found weighed a quarter ounce. His expertise in mining allows him to decide if a piece of land is worth mining for gold. He along with his competent team members digs his grandfather’s mines for gold.
Schnabel is a complete outdoor person who is also very adventurous. He starred in his own spinoff reality series “Parker’s Trail” where he convinced a few of his friends to hike on the Klondike trail which is known to be extremely tough and treacherous. He named the show after his grandfather whom he dearly loved and with whom he was very close.
