Mike Jones was born on November 18, 1981 at Houston, Texas, United States. He is a rapper, acting professional, and business owner. He originally was with Swishahouse, then left to discover his own brand, Ice Age. Before he was on Swishahouse, he was in a team known as Souf Folk, in which he used the alias, Sache. He launched one record with Souf Folk known as Country Thuggin in 2003.
In 2001, Jones established his own independent record brand, Ice Age Entertainment, and started solo rapping. He individually marketed and distributed his music on the roads and pushed it on DJs at strip clubs. Jones eventually finalized the southeast record brand, Swishahouse after meeting with Swishahouse A&R T. Farris. At that time, Swishahouse was signing other future southeast rapping artists Slim Thug, Paul Wall and Chamillionaire.
In 2004, after the release of his large single “Still Tippin'”, which was getting lots of radio play, Jones finalized a major deal to Jive Records and Warner Bros. He quickly launched his second individual track, “Back Then”, which gradually went Platinum, making it Jones’s Platinum solo. On April 19, 2005, Jones launched his first appearance record, Who Is Mike Jones? After two months the album also obtained Platinum position, gradually attaining dual Platinum. It is Jones’s maximum selling record to date.
In September 2006, Jones launched the individual named “Mr. Jones”. It came out at #92 on the Billboard Charts. The music obtained further identification when rapper Lil Wayne freestyled on his version “Sky Is The Limit” for his “Da Drought 3” mixtape. On Jan 31, 2007, Jones declared a future EP and a movie, both named The American Dream. On April 21, 2007, Jones launched the second individual from the EP, named “My 64”, presenting Bun B and Snoop Dogg. The individual came out at #1 on the Bubbling under Hot 100 Singles chart. The American Dream was launched by Jones and it came out on the Billboard charts at #183 on Nov 20, 2007.
